Perched on a cliff with views of Khandala Ghat, Dukes Retreat is a 20-minute drive from Lonavala. Surrounded by waterfalls and forest, it has free Wi-Fi and an outdoor pool.

The breakfast spread was amazing and need to mention that we enjoyed it thoroughly. The dinner buffet was okay and expensive.

The room amenities need to be upgraded. Also, the elevator did not go to the 1st floor (ground floor). This was very inconvenient and very unlike a good hotel. There was no information provided for the same. We went down to the ground floor in the lift and the doors did not open. We were a little shaken up but then pressed the 2nd floor and we went up. Had to take stairs to go down to the ground / first floor. When we informed the staff, they were very casual about it, as if we are supposed to know it upfront without any information provided.

Good stay but property needs a facelift and refurbishing.

Extremely beautiful location, the staff who were always friendly and professional, the food and the location of the resort. The food was tasty and the resort has a cute bar overlooking the valley.

The rooms could have been better- there is a smell in the room that is definitely from the overuse of disinfectants. Prior occupants had discarded cigarette butts outside the window. A bit expensive for the stay.

Best place to get stress-free location wise and price wise also. Worth paying the price for the stay. Amazing view from the room. Supportive staff.

Overpriced, out of maintenance property

The view from some rooms is good. Since we we're stqying longer, we got our room changed to have a better view.

Nothing of this property is 3-star like. The over priced stay and food menu are to start with. The breakfast menu is limited, bland and repetitive. I'd say the taste is good, but if I'm to shell out 1200 per person per buffet meal, it's not worth it. The rooms are not maintained, you can see dust and mold at places. Found some bathroom fixtures not working. People are generally good but there wasn't a feel of hospitality that one finds in a 3 star resort. Overall, people are buying and they're selling. It'll probably keep on happening for some further along but I've been to way much better properties in about half the price. The view from window can't be charged for thousands of bucks per night without a good service.

Great views and comfortable rooms.

The location and views are great. We managed to get 2 interconnected rooms that made the stay very comfy.

Service was quite slow even for the restaurant. The pool has no shade or bench inside. So it's use is strictly for the more active ones rather than recreational folks like me. Food was still a bit old style and bit oily.

Excellent and highly recommended.

Firstly the location is excellent. Easy to access off the expressway. Perched on top of the hills and very windy. Their breakfast spread is excellent with a really good variety from South Indian, local, continental and with juices, sweets and coffee. egg counter too. Lunch and dinner do not have buffets. Staff is courteous in all departments. You get newspaper in the morning. Staff checks in to collect laundry if you need it. Our room had a small sitting area just outside the room and it was really nice to have coffee. The place is quaint and ideal for a quite couple holiday. I did see some families with kids too.

The a-la-carte menu is a little on the expensive side and so are their spa offerings. There not much to complain about.

A memorable experience

Everything from location to food to room facilities to staff to service. We had our privacy and also enough to do in the property. One suggestion, the bar can stock a few more varieties/brands of alcohol and shots. However, we didn't miss anything, the service was excellent, the food is actually of high quality and taste, though less options to select. Everything said, we are surely coming back if you keep such standards of service and quality.

Awesome Stay, Excellent Facilities, Super Staff !!

The Service and Hospitality was good. Some of the staff was exceptional.

I had asked for a room with a view but I did not get the same. I wish that the staff at front desk were upfront with me if they did not have the room, they could have informed me right away. The staff could have asked me to choose rooms also if they did not have a good view but they did not. I don't feel comfortable changing rooms and make others/hotel staff feel bad by complaining about just the view...

Awesome

The friendly and unpretentious staff. The big clean rooms. The relaxed and peaceful air. Wheelchair access. Good Indian food and a well provided for breakfast buffet. Decent coffee.

There was a marriage which booked out the poolside for a full day. I was not made aware of this when making the booking. Fortunately the group was a relatively quiet and sober lot.

The location is excellent. The staff was helpful.

Some of the guests rang the bell in the morning and at night without even looking at the room number. Quite disturbing when you are on holidays.
